Zephyr Launches Cypress and Willow Outdoor Ventilation Hoods

Zephyr Launches Cypress and Willow Outdoor Ventilation Hoods

New Features Include Increased Depth, Improved Exterior, More Ventilation Power, and New Material To Withstand Extreme Heat And Moisture

Designing an outdoor kitchen requires a lot of the same thought and components as the indoor kitchen, such as: location, appliances, plumbing, electrical components, cabinetry, and ventilation. Zephyr, the leader in ventilation hood design, innovation and technology, launches Cypress and Willow outdoor hoods, now with increased depth, improved exterior, more ventilation power, and new features to withstand extreme heat and moisture.

Do I really need an outdoor ventilation hood?

Outdoor cooking has transitioned to outdoor entertaining and guests are interacting and eating in closer proximity to the barbecue, with more exposure to smoke, grease, and odors. If the outdoor grill is located under a combustible covered structure, a powerful outdoor range hood is necessary and often times, building codes may require a hood be installed.

The outdoor hood functions the same as they do indoors, extracting all of the unnecessary components and keeping the outdoor kitchen, furniture (and your guests!), clean and grease-free. Including a range hood in the beginning of the outdoor kitchen build-out will undoubtedly be more cost effective than waiting until later when walls, countertops, and siding have become discolored and damaged from smoke exposure.

Why Zephyr?

Zephyr’s new Cypress outdoor hood combines form and function with its seamlessly contoured, fully welded and polished marine grade exterior. Its extended 32-inch depth provides even more capture over professional, powerful outdoor grills; offering more coverage than traditional outdoor range hoods. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel canopy houses high-performance professional stainless steel baffle filters that enhance airflow and are dishwasher-safe. Three-speed metallic knob controls withstand extreme temperatures and natural elements, and dual-level halogen lighting illuminates the grill when cooking after dark. An optional 304 grade 12-inch duct cover is also available. The Cypress is available with a 1,200-CFM blower in: 36-, 42-, 48-, and 54-inch widths.

Willow outdoor pro-style hood features a 1000-CFM blower that won’t give in to the elements or the heat of outdoor gas grills. The outdoor hood is available in either 304-grade corrosion-resistant stainless steel or galvanized steel with gray powder-coat protection. High performance stainless steel, dishwasher-safe baffle filters are also included and two-speed, marine-grade rocker controls withstand extreme heat and moisture. Optional, easy-to-install liners are available in 36-, 42-, 48-, 54-, and 60-inch widths. New depth ranges include: 26.5-, 29.5-, 20.5-, and 23.5-inches (adjustable depth also available).

“Homeowners are blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living, and this primarily centers around the kitchen,” says Luke Siow, Zephyr President. “What used to be an afterthought in indoor kitchen design, the range hood is now the centerpiece and a critical component when selecting appliances. We’re seeing this trend now in the outdoor kitchen as well, and are happy to provide consumers with two powerful outdoor range hood options.”

CES 2015 Recap

Another Consumer Electronics Show has come and gone so we thought we’d round-up a few trends, innovative (and silly – a selfie brush?!) products and highlights from the show. Did you attend? What were your favorites?

Connected Kitchen

Whirlpool: The connected kitchen continues to be a top trend in the industry and we were impressed by the interactive backsplash that Whirlpool had on display. It acts as an unobtrusive “command center” that displays recipes and posts real time social media feeds as well as weather and news updates. It can also connect to other appliances to indicate when the laundry is done drying. Pretty cool!

Long gone are the standard white appliances and the trend in pattern and color is making its way to your washing machine! Whirlpool also showcased magnetic interchangeable fronts for the washer and dryer that lets consumers match their laundry room decor and color palette.

4K HD Resolution

There was a big jump in resolution this year with Sony, LG and Samsung all showcasing the latest in 4K Ultra High Definition resolution. And with regard to TV’s, thinner and sleeker the better.

Let’s Talk Tech: Futuristic Kitchen Gadgets & Appliances

Toaster

Who said a toaster needs to be a rectangular box? This ingenious super-flexible Halo toaster is a sheet of heating element that blankets the bread and makes crisp toast. When you’re done toasting, you can fold it into half or roll it into a wrap and stow it away. Cool concept!

cuttingboardscale

This Cutting Scale by Jim Termeer might look just like a standard cutting board, but it actually has an integrated scale within a defined area on its surface. So the next time you’re chopping onions for a recipe, you can cut and measure the ingredients on the same surface with very little extra effort. With the growing trend around “food science”, this seems like the perfect product to lead to more precise recipes and better tasting food.

Mobile-Induction-Heat-Plate-by-Tommi-Moilanen

Although we love living in the city, it also means a real lack of space – especially in the kitchen! This Mobile Induction Heat Plate from Electorlux is the perfect fit for those uber-small apartments and lofts where you can cook up a quick dinner and control the heat level and time with your cell phone.

coolvoxwhirpool

The CoolVox by Whirlpool truly defines a party in the kitchen. This Bluetooth-enabled technology lets you blast your favorite tunes, without taking up any more space in your kitchen.

iRobot-Scooba-230-636

And finally, no more hassling with dirty brooms and mops – the iRobot Scooba does it for you! This handy little device cleans your floors without putting dirty water back onto your floors, unlike traditional mops. The squeegee-vacuum efficiently removes up to 98 percent of common household bacteria. Less housework? We’re sold.

Just breathe…
