We’re back from another successful Design and Construction Week in Las Vegas and recapped some of our favorite trends and new products. Did you attend the show? We’d love to hear your favorite finds!

Color: Color in the kitchen is not going away, and this year, manufactures introduced softer and pastel colors to their product line-up. From La Cornue’s pink range to the pastel refrigerators by Smeg and Blue Ombre Wall by Thermador, these products are sure to be a hit with designers looking to make a colorful splash in the kitchen.

Black and Mixed Metallics: In addition to the Springy hues, there were also a lot of new products introduced in brushed metallic and one of our favorite colors of the season – Black! Delta’s masculine black faucet and the brass and copper faucets and shower head by Brizo and Oak Hill (DXV) were a few of our favorites.

Texture – We were very impressed by the gorgeous patterns and textured tiles that were at the show this year. Dekton introduced their new color collection and Ann Saks showcased the Kelly Wearstler textured tiles. The Nebbia by Caesarstone resembles a geode-design and will hopefully make its debut in our Showroom!

Design & Construction Week 2015 Recap

We were back in Vegas for the 2015 Design & Construction Week, which combined the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show and International Builder Show. It was a huge show with more than 3,750 exhibitors, 125,000 attendees and a lot of exciting new trends on the horizon for 2015.

One design statement that we LOVE is mixed metallics throughout the kitchen and bath. Long gone are the days where kitchens are all stainless steel and monochromatic. Consumers are gravitating toward mixed metals such as rose gold, copper, black and gold. This adds character to the kitchen and gives homeowners more opportunity to express their personal style. Check out some of these shiny new products: Canyon Creek Cabinets backsplash made out of pennies (such a cool, timeless design!),  Kohler’s gold toilet flush (love this little gold accent), Gold Elba basin by Bagno Design, a sparkly gold range hood by Prizer Hoods, and hardware by Aquabrass in every mixed metallic imaginable.

After CES, we definitely had technology on the brain so it was great to see how kitchen and bath manufacturers are incorporating technology into their product design. This mirror by RYVR features a TV screen so you can get ready for your day while simultaneously watching the news. Toto developed a self-cleaning washlet with its new Actilight technology that self-sprays to clean bacteria and features a UV light that is activated once the lid is shut that triggers the decomposition process of waste particles. And LG launched a TechTop wireless charging surface that lets you easily charge your phone by placing it on top of the surface; no outlet necessary.

Luxury through detail was another big trend we noticed at the show. From gorgeous tile displays to intricate hardware, manufacturers were definitely paying close attention to the little details that make good design so important. We loved this Kallista by Kohler display… Our dream bath!

Space-saving appliances are gaining popularity as consumers move to urban areas or scale down a bit for their second homes. Millennials are also buying their first homes and are looking for energy efficient, compact appliances with advanced technology features. Bosch launched a 24″ oven and 18″ dishwasher, the Halo Soaking Tub is the perfect size for the mini-luxurious bathroom and the GE Boxie washer and dryer combo is stylish yet functional for small spaces.

Design and Construction Week: 2014 Recap

Every year our industry convenes for the National Kitchen & Bath Industry Show where manufacturers show off their latest and greatest to designers, contractors, media and thousands of other attendees. This year, KBIS partnered with the International Builder Show in Las Vegas and it was a huge success. With more than 750,000 attendees covering 440,000 square feet of exhibit space, we were excited to feel the buzz and excitement from the industry and thought we’d share a few favorite finds straight from the show floor:

Kohler had a gorgeous booth and a ton of new product launches; you can see them all here. We loved the new Awaken Collection that features water-conserving technology and single-function shower heads for an intensified spray.

Italian manufacture Fhiaba launched a new integrated refrigerator line. The company is known for amazing quality products and features, including 3 door shelves, LED lighting and anti-bacterial stainless steel interior.

The Viking booth was packed with over 50 new product launches, so it was hard to get a goo photo! Our favorite new Viking product is the Professional French Door Electric Oven, which features side swing doors. We would probably select a more neutral color, but we loved the doors!

Amerock launched new products that simplifies selecting cabinet hardware for consumers and professional designers . The names of these eight new families in the AmerockNOW program—#BiCoastal, #NortheastHome, #Heartland, #LondonUndone, #Lodge, #PhoenixRising, #LAExperience, and #CityBeat— connect with consumers who are looking for a hardware style that resonates with their own home décor.

True – the wine refrigeration company – launched a new LED lighting system into their products that incorporates 14 color choices. We loved seeing these products, as we prepare to also launch an appliance featuring integrated colored LED lighting this month!
