Q&A

How do I clean my range hood from grease?

If you have a stainless steel range hood please follow these instructions:

  1. Apply a non abrasive cleaner, such as soft scrub, with a slightly damp sponge and rub the area in the same direction as the stainless steel's grain.
  2. Use a stainless steel cleaner and follow the manufacturers instructions.

If your range hood has an enamel finish please follow these instructions:

  1. Apply a non abrasive cleaner, such as soft scrub, with a slightly damp sponge and rub gently until clean.
  2. Use a grease cleaner, available at your local hardware or grocery store, and follow the manufacturers instructions.

Q&A

What if the grease cups are falling or sliding out of the unit?

  1. If the grease cups are falling or sliding out of the unit after installation, the bottom panel was not installed correctly onto the unit. The back lip of the bottom panel must tuck inside the unit in order to secure the grease cups in place.

What if the grease or cleaning solution is not collecting in the cups?

  1. Verify that the hood has been installed correctly; the hood must be level from front to back and from side to side. This will cause the grease or cleaning solution to collect at the lowest point.
Q&A

What if one or more of the light bulbs work but some do not?

If you own a hood from our Europa Collection:

  1. Verify that the bulbs work in a standard lamp socket, but not in the range hood.
  2. From the circuit breaker turn the power off to the range hood. Remove the bulb(s) that are not lighting up and you will see two metal brackets which hold the light socket.
  3. Bend the metal brackets opposite of each other outwards. The brackets will bow out and lower the light socket to make a complete contact with the light bulb.
  4. These brackets will bend quite a bit, so do not be afraid to give them a good push.

If you own a hood from our Power Series Collection:

  1. Try switching bulbs from a socket that works, if the light bulb in the troubled socket still doesn't light up try using a non-metallic implement to pull down the center contact within the socket.

What if the light bulb will not unscrew from the socket?

If you own a hood from our Europa Collection please use the following instructions:

  1. Wear a rubber-type glove and apply enough upward pressure from the base of your palm and turn your hand counter-clockwise. This will loosen the bulb which can then be unscrewed with your hand.
  2. To access the light bulb socket directly you will need to remove the filter. A diffuser panel just past the filter may need to be removed to access the socket. This can be done by removing a few screws and taking out the panel. From here you can unscrew the light bulb.

CAUTION: Check that the bulbs are cold to the touch and the power to the hood is turned off from the circuit breaker prior to doing any service work.
