Zephyr Forte Wall Custom Range Hood Wins a GOOD DESIGN Award
Customization has always been at the heart of great kitchen design, and the Forte Range Hood was created to make it easier for homeowners to bring that vision to life. We’re excited to announce that Forte, a customizable blend of traditional design and professional-grade performance, has been recognized with a 2025 GOOD DESIGN® Award, one of the world’s most respected honors for design excellence.

The GOOD DESIGN® Awards are presented by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen alongside Charles and Ray Eames, the program is now in its 75th year and remains the world’s oldest and most internationally recognized platform celebrating superior design, sustainability, and innovation. Each year, an international jury evaluates submissions from top manufacturers and design firms across the globe.
This award recognition highlights what Forte does best: it brings a tailored, design-forward approach to kitchen ventilation without compromising power. Part of the Zephyr Designer Collection, Forte is a perfect blend of classic range hood styling and the kind of performance serious home cooks expect, all while giving homeowners the flexibility to make it feel intentional in their space.
Designed for kitchens of many styles, Forte complements everything from shaker cabinetry and bold accents to classic subway tile, and it adapts effortlessly to a variety of ceiling configurations. The hood is available in 36-inch and 48-inch widths and features customizable banding options in satin gold, matte black, and polished stainless steel. The result is a professional-style focal point that can coordinate with cabinet hardware, light fixtures, and appliance finishes.
Forte pairs seamlessly with the Zephyr Monsoon Insert options, including Monsoon Mini, Monsoon I, Monsoon Mini II, and Monsoon Connect. With multiple size options, insert choices, banding finishes, and 12-inch or 18-inch duct cover configurations, Forte offers an impressive 92 possible combinations, making it easy to dial in both the look and the performance your kitchen needs.
“Forte empowers homeowners to bring their vision to life with a designer range hood that combines personalized style with powerful performance,” says Sarah Wahl, VP of Marketing at Zephyr. “It’s not just an appliance, it’s a statement piece that elevates both the kitchen’s aesthetic and the cooking experience.”
The customization process is refreshingly simple. Start by selecting the hood body size, then choose one of four Monsoon inserts based on your cooking style and desired features. Add an optional duct cover, with stackable designs available for taller ceilings, and complete the look with an optional banding kit in satin gold or matte black to coordinate with the rest of the room.
With this GOOD DESIGN recognition, Forte continues to prove that high-performance ventilation can be as considered and customizable as the rest of the kitchen.
