Austin Carrier and Alex Mutter-Rottmayer of the Sonoma-based design firm, hommeboys, creates a stunning masterpiece, named the “Cliff House” in the hills of Glen Ellen, CA.

“The kitchen was one of the top features of the home and we knew we wanted to incorporate as much light and fresh air into the space as possible,” says Austin Carrier of hommeboys. “One of our absolute favorite things to do is play with materials, and the selects at the Glen Ellen Cliff House were no exception.”

The kitchen features a rustic plank walnut that was double bleached to get the tones of hickory but the grain of walnut. This brings a warmth to the kitchen but keeps it light and airy. Tucked inside the custom hood enclosure is the Zephyr Tornado III insert range hood with multiple blower options, 3-speed electronic controls, and tri-level LumiLight LED lights.

The classic and textural design is carried throughout the home to the wine room, which includes the Presrv™ Full Size Dual Zone Wine Cooler.

This unit is the ultimate solution for wine collectors with two distinct zones for reds and whites, a 138-bottle capacity, full extension wood racks, and Vibration Dampening System to minimize wine disturbance.

The backyard oasis sits gently on the slope of a hill overlooking Sonoma’s Valley of the Moon. The juxtaposition of the warm woods, cool stainless steel, and teak and black furniture, make this the ultimate outdoor escape. The Presrv™ Outdoor Beverage Cooler is part of the modern outdoor kitchen that was built with corrosion-resistant 305-grade stainless steel, and plenty of storage space to chill craft beers, wines, or prepped veggies for the grill.

Carrier recommends for outdoor spaces, “When it comes to an outdoor kitchen, you need at a bare minimum a sink, an outdoor beverage fridge and a grill. Integrating an overhead steel trellis with wood slates — or a shade cloth from the outer edge of your cooking area and over your dining area to bring the two spaces into one — will create a seamless look that feels good and functions well.”
